We have received several computers that had been repair by two other (local) businesses.

Case 1: The user was charged for computer cleaning and repair

We opened the computer case and documented that it had not been cleaned.
The power supply was intermittent although they claimed they had fixed it.
One of the power supply large capacitors was leaking.

Case 2: The user was charged for computer repair associated with the display flickering.

The power supply was failing. We replaced the supply, flicker fixed.

We have numerous other computers that we have repaired that we not 'fixed' even though the user had been charged as much as $400.  Even the 'cleaned' computer cost the user more than $100.
