Green Fuels Sustainable Energies

Producer of:

Ethanol and biodiesel fuels for transportation:

  • Ethanol feedstock will include: food waste from local grocery stores, bakeries, doughnut shops, cardboard and paper waste streams

  • Currently 90% of all cars on the road can use ethanol as a fuel in various amounts

  • Since 2000 all government vehicles purchased have had to be Flex Fuel or E85 compatible. In our climate, these vehicles are capable of running on straight ethanol or E100

  • Our ethanol will be refined by a unique process of ethanol dehydration, that has been designed within the company. This system allows us to produce higher grade ethanol at a lower cost per gallon

  • Biodiesel feedstock will be waste cooking oil from local restaurants and schools, and in the future will be supplemented from algae grown on premises

  • Any diesel vehicle on the road can with minor modifications (about $100 in parts) be made to run on biodiesel. Once converted these vehicles can run on either regular diesel or biodiesel or any mixture of the two fuels

  • Biodiesel can be used as a home heating fuel, with limited modifications (about $100) need to replace several gaskets and increase the jet by 1 size

Small DC wind turbines (upwind, downwind, and VAWT) for residential and commercial use:

  • Turbines are capable of producing from 1 to 5 KwH of power at lower wind speeds, capable of producing more power in a month than a unit 5 times its size, on average

  • Turbines will be sold at the rate of $1 per watt, vs. the going rate of $8 - $10 per watt for solar PV (installed prices)

  • By building small DC based turbines, this allows for quick and easy integration with solar PV systems. Also if more power is needed a 2nd or 3rd wind turbine can be added to an existing system, without having to add another inverter (additional battery storage space may be needed)

  • Since we can produce any kind and size of turbine required we can match the customers power needs to the available winds and the locations that are available to install these turbines

  • Turbines will be produced from parts brought in to EnvironTech Electronic Recycling and local salvage yards, this will help to reduce both the costs to build and the waste going to landfills

Solar DHW heaters (DHW – domestic hot water):

  • Heating water accounts for up to 25% of the average homes energy costs

  • Capable of reducing cost of heating water by over 50%, by preheating the water that comes in from the public water supply

  • During the summer a unit like this can provide 100% of the water heating needs. In the winter it can supply 50% of the water heating needs (due to the shorter days in the winter)

  • For an average family of 4 people and about 50 gallons of hot water per day, two 4'x8' units are about all that are needed on the roof

  • In the winter these units can be used in combination with boiler/HW systems to supplement home or business heating

Solar trombe walls for winter auxiliary air heating:

  • For homes and buildings that have south facing facades, these units can be installed to produce auxiliary heating during the winter months. Since the units are installed flat against the outside walls, there is no heat produced during the summer months (sunlight is blocked by eaves/overhang)

  • Trombe walls are capable of supplementing up to 25% of the daily heating for most homes and small businesses

  • Trombe walls are easily installed on existing homes and buildings, and there are no additional costs to do any structural modifications to the existing home/building

  • The only structure to these units is; mounting to the building and a way for the cold air to enter the solar unit from the structure and a way for the hot air to reenter the building. An existing window can be used as the trombe wall. Free heat from the trombe wall will offset the light lost from the window.

Passive solar greenhouses for year-round food production:

  • Heavily insulated greenhouses, and precise solar glazing application (along with placement), allow year round food production from a small greenhouse footprint

  • These small units will allow a family to grow more nutritious foods at very low costs

  • These greenhouse start in sizes of 8' deep by 10' long, and can be expanded along the length to be as large as needed by the family

  • Larger greenhouses can be built that will allow the integration of aquaponics and fish raising for additional food sources

Small biogas digesters; methane produced can be used as a replacement for natural gas:

  • Methane will be produced from cow, horse, pig, poultry manure and animal bedding

  • Since methane is essentially identical to natural gas, it can be used to heat, cook or be used in a natural gas compatible electric backup systems

  • Future systems will be built that can process food scraps

Small wood gas production units:

  • Wood gas can be used by farm tractors and harvesters as a fuel instead of diesel. This will allow local farms to till, plant and harvest by using only wood chips or crop residue as a fuel
